I haven’t decided yet if I plan to do one of those Year In Review posts, or even a Plans for the New Year post.
I don’t really know what I’m going to be doing in 2015. I mean, other than spending the first three months of it training myself to stop writing “2014” — but that’s normal.
One thing that is going to be happening in 2015 is that I will still be writing.
Possibly you did not notice this but I stopped posting a chapter at a time of The Rise of The Phoneix every Saturday or so. That’s because — in case you hadn’t noticed — I posted the whole thing. There it is, right there <—- in the left hand nav panel along with my Categories and my monthly Archives, all 22 chapters of it.
Well, not quite. You see, there is a sequel in the works and has been for years (my motto: I shall write no novel before its time). I put it on hold to write and distribute my newsletter for a little over a decade. Then I put it on hold to finish getting my Bachelor of Arts degree. I’ve been working on it since graduation (slowly) but there is at least a possibility that I will be returning to academia in late 2015. So, if I am going to finish this thing before I’m dead, now would be a good time.
As of this writing, said sequel (which currently goes by the title Children of Chaos) is roughly two-thirds of the way finished. So, in an effort to encourage myself to git ‘er done while I can, I’m going to start posting a chapter a week. I will start this weekend — the first weekend of the new year. Can I write a chapter in a week? We’re about to find out. Or this will encourage me to get the rest of the book finished during these first few months of the year that I’m posting the stuff that is already done.
My experience with my newsletter taught me that I work pretty well with deadlines. For that matter, so did my experience with college. So, I’m not expecting this to kill me or even to significantly impair my ability to write good stuff.
As usual, I will be profoundly grateful to you if you would let me know what you think, what you love, what you hate, etc. about each chapter as I post it.
